Bio

I can’t remember when I uttered my first musical note, but I know that I have loved singing as long as I can remember. At six years old, I was in the school and church choirs. Musicals were soon to follow; I had found my passion early.

Performing in local talent shows and venues, I was ‘discovered’ by Checkmate Records who flew me to Nashville to ‘cut’ my first 45. It had just two songs, but I was so proud. This was at the ripe age of nineteen. You can imagine the fun I had.

Through my twenties and thirties I focused mostly on raising my four children, some of them now musicians in their own right. When it came to singing I tried to perform in shows that they could attend, including Gilbert & Sullivan’s Sleeping Beauty and a favourite comedy, La Cage aux Folles.

Today, I sing wherever the wind takes me from intimate cafes and restaurants to large social functions. I’m a regular at the local Starbucks and two of my most recent events include an evening social for the Red Hat Society and a Going Away Party for my very own daughter.

I have too many influences to list but what singer doesn’t have their favourites? I have been likened in the past to Vegas style crooners and enjoy singing the works of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Engelbert Humperdink. Along with these favourite staples, I love to sing Country (new & old), Blues and classic Ballads.

The bottom line is that I sing to make others smile; when I look out into the crowd and see children laughing, people enjoying an old classic or young twenty-something dancing to timeless tracks, my job is done.
